During the Summer (June-October) the waters of the Banana River Lagoon come alive with the arrival of the bioluminescence plankton. Watch as the waves and current stir up this tiny organisms and lights up the water with a blue neon glow, from movement of the water, to a school of mullet, to the glow of a moving manatee or sting ray light is produced and it is illumined. You will have to see it to believe it! There are very few places in the entire world to see this phenomenal experience.
